“Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him and saith, Master, master, and kissed him. And they laid their hands on him and took him.” Mark 14:44-46
Judas, overtaken by sin, betrayed his Lord. He claimed to have loved Christ. He followed Him, heard His teachings, witnessed His miracles and was commissioned to preach His gospel. When tempted by greed, he yielded to a sin which changed his course of life. It was with words of honor and a kiss of hypocrisy that he betrayed his Lord.
We too may love Christ, follow Him, obey His Word, proclaim His power and share His gospel. But, like Judas, in the face of temptation, we too may yield to self and sin. Serving self is natural; holiness takes effort.
The world needs Jesus. You are His daughter, his representative. Ask God to reveal the inconsistencies in your life(we all have them) that may distort who He is. Claim His grace and power to live in holiness, not hypocrisy.
