“And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.” Mark 14:36
Jesus knew what was ahead; his trial, suffering and death. He also knew of Peter’s upcoming denial and Judas’s betrayal. His spirit was heavy. His soul distressed almost to the point of death. The anticipated physical suffering and the desertion of those closest to him were overwhelming. He was crushed; he experienced Gethsemane. The oil of victory poured forth as he yielded himself to the upcoming cross of suffering. His Gethsemane victory is what makes it possible for us to know victory over sin and death.
Today, you too may be experiencing a Gethsemane. God is calling you to surrender your selfish, prideful, independent spirit.
Claim victory in Christ and say as He did, “Abba Father, all things are possible with you, not as I will, but as you will.” The oil of victory will pour forth and bring healing and life to your body, soul and spirit.
