Jesus said, “come ye after me and I will make you to become fishers of men.” Mark 1:17
Jesus needed disciples to be like him, to continue his work and to bring others into the Kingdom. He knew he needed workers with patience, diligence and a love for their work. So, he called the ordinary, busy fishermen – Peter, Andrew, James and John.
Jesus has called you, daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother, to the Kingdom “for such a time as this”. Esther had no idea of the work that lay ahead when she entered the kingdom. Her submission to palace life prepared her to stand before the king and thus save the lives of her people. Today your Kingdom work may require patience in training a strong-willed toddler who may one day become an evangelist. You may need diligence in preparing the next science lesson for your fifth graders. It’s compassion that will bring you to push yet another wheel-chair or change a soiled bed. Be obedient of Jesus’ call to follow. Allow Him to help you become what He needs you to be.
Follow Christ today.
